the beginning of my blog

As I'm winding down for bed tonight I had a lot of thoughts from reflecting on my weekend. To get straight to the point, I just wanted to express how thankful I am that God has recently been working in my life. I am not big on posting my thoughts on social media websites, however I had a few things I wanted to say tonight. I have recently become a member of a small group with my local church in town. I have been meaning to do this since I moved to Bowling Green almost 3 years ago. Sometimes it's not that easy though. This morning at church while listening to one of my friends sing, I just got one of those overwhelming feelings of joy and gratitude for what the Lord has done for me. They say if you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plans. I love this because it's so true. We think that we have it all figured out most of the time and that we can pave our on futures. I thought this up until I graduated college. I've always been a Christian, but until the past year I didn't really dive into exploring my faith and found out what it really meant to serve the Lord. I have given every aspect of my life over to him and trust him with everything. Don't get me wrong, I am not perfect and will never claim to be. I still try to do things on my own and fix things myself. Being a Christian is a daily battle!
On another note, I had a wonderful weekend spending time with my mom. She came up Friday night and we went to a Hot Rods game. Her birthday was this past weekend so I made her a peanut butter pie, which turned out to be delicious. Saturday I had to work so she did some things around the house for my brother and I and this morning she went to church with me and then back home. I am so thankful to have a mom who loves spending time with me and the other way around. She is my best friend, seriously. I mean, if you can't tell your mom something, who can you tell?
This is my first blog post so we will see how it goes with this! Until next time...
